05/05 - Recipe for a kick ass weekend. Start by playing your Xbox 360 and having it freeze and then give the 3 blinking red lights on every power on after that. Knowing that you don't have a warranty, take it apart and then replace the thermal compound on the CPU and GPU. Turn it on and get the same blinking lights and realize you just wasted an hour or two. Play a game for a half hour without locking and assume everything is OK. Yay! Next up you'll wanna upgrade your one Windows PC in the house to Vista. While installing to a different hard drive, notice that the floppy drive power is disconnected. Connect that mofo up and power on. Five seconds later see massive grey smoke and experience the smell of burning electronics. Pull the power cord as fast as you can. Chop the burnt lead off the molex connector, remove the floppy drive permanently and everything starts up. Install Vista without further incident (and quickly go back to the daily use Linux PC). Yay! Last step for the kick ass weekend, read about a new firmware for your 360 and take apart the thing again on Sunday to flash the firmware. Let's see how this turns out.
